Connecting the (operational) dots with custom software
Home & Away provides magazine production, advertising sales and web design/hosting services for a cooperative of AAA organizations across the United States. The out-of-the-box solution that was in place for managing and tracking advertising sales was unreliable and did not deliver everything needed for effective operations.
Turner was asked to assist Home & Away in finding a replacement software solution. After an initial analysis of the company’s needs and requirements, we determined there is not an of-the-shelf solution that could deliver what the client needed. Following a Request for Proposals, Turner was selected to design a custom software solution for Home & Away.
A detailed discovery process was completed to gather information necessary for a full system design. Throughout the design and development of the software, Home & Away was invited to review layouts, provide insight and approve varying stages of development. By encouraging collaboration with the client at key points during the process, we could assure expectations were met and costs were kept within budget. This approach also allowed for the client and our team to discuss possible additions to implement later on as needs change over time.
The software development project for Home & Away consisted of several thousand hours of labor utilizing a year-long timeline. Development was completed two weeks early and within one percent of the initial estimate.
